Paparazzi NO!

This photo makes me laugh, Callan is looking like he is a "STAR" yelling at the paparazzi! I guess some days I can be a bit paparazzi-ish. Well at least his childhood is well documented in photos! Someday he'll thank me for it. Him and Maya finally figured out that they could both fit on the train together. It sure helps the sharing fights! :)

Clean Sweep!

I was told once that every 2-3 year old is a little OCD in the cleaning department, they find it so fun. Well Callan REALLY loves to sweep! The only problem is when he uses the broom to try and reach things that are out of reach like, Sara's salt and pepper collection, light switches, pottery...you name it. It will be interesting to see hom much he stays this way like his Dad (and Grandma) or turns into his Mom....only time will tell. For now it is fun!

Ah the Trains are BACK!

At the Chicago Botanic Gardens they have a WONDERFUL G scale Garden Train layout. Callan and Mark are just in heaven there. Opening day was May 12th and we were one of the very first people there. Too bad it does not open until 10am, since we got to the garden at 8 am! It was worth hanging around for as always. I think that the volunteers will know Callan by name by the end of the season! The bottom photo is Callan saying CHOO-CHOO and pointing to one up above us. It is really awesome.

The Botanic Garden

Mark Callan and I went to the Botanic Garden on Saturday. It was a bit chilly but wonderfully sunny. This is my new favorite picture of Callan. I think he was thinking if you blink I'll be in that water....

Then we had fun in the tulips too. It was a great time...just look at the other post about the trains. :)

Sara and Cal!!!

WOW Sara got to meet Cal, as in CAL RIPKEN JR as in O's super star!!!! He was at the Barnes and Noble in Old Orchard. Callan was alseep but I at least got him a book signed. Here Sara and Cal are posing with Callan's O's jersey. Cal said oh look it's mine from when I was a kid. He was VERY nice.

Mr Bear!

Callan's lovey is Mr Bear. He has grown very attached to him and uses him as a pillow to sleep on. Some thing about rubbing his fur calms him down. Thankfully we got a second Mr Bear to rotate. Mr Bear was from Papa's best friend Roger and Judy Carlsen.

New Shoes!

Callan got a new pair of shoes and of course it is the only pair he will wear now! They are low top navy Chuck Taylors. I know that I had a pair the same color when I was in high school. I just love this photo.

The Bean

After AIC we let the kids burn some energy at the "Bean" in Millennium Park before getting in the car for the trip home. Callan was really amazed with his reflection in the Bean. I don't think I will ever get sick of going to play and see the Bean. The official name of the Bean is Cloud Gate. The other picture is of Paige and Callan.

Art Institute Trip

One spring day we went to the Art Institute with our friends, Paige and Alex (and Mom Jen) Gordon. The kids were great and had a lot of fun in the kids area. Callan and Paige were being very silly in the window seat of the kids book section!

Easter (a little late)

As you can see Callan had a great Easter! Grandma, Papa, Aunt Mary, Uncle Jason, and Aunt Di all came over to our house. Callan got Easter baskets from all of them. What a lucky boy!

Sock Monkey Fest

Only the Berrys.....would find Sock Monkey Fest and be willing to drive 1.5+ hours to go to it. Heck Sara was even able to wrap AJ and Maya into coming along for the ride. It was VERY fun. Callan had a blast with Grandma, here they are in front of a sock monkey statue.

Scoots McLoudrey

As you can see, like Mother and Uncle!!! Here Callan is showing off his awesome Chicco Vespa. He has really learned how to ride it and loves scooting around the basement. I think he is going to freak out when he sees me get on Stella when the weather warms up! Fingers crossed for another 75 degree day again soon.

Record Breaking Warm Weather in IL!

Ah, spring has sprung even if it is just for a few days! It was WONDERFUL today, record highs, in the mid-70s. Callan and I took advatage of it and met some friends at the park. Here is bubble boy with Paige in the background! and then just a cute one of him hamming it up while climbing.

A Boy and His Dog

Callan "surprisingly" loves dogs! Here are some cute photos of him with Jace, our board and train and Bailey, the old "bad" Lab. As you can see Bailey and Callan of course have a special thing going on....what is it with boys and Labs....

Callan's new friend

I have a new board and train client and Callan is in LOVE! I hate to tell him that she is not staying....only Tollers stay! Her name is Jace and she is a super cute and sassy husky puppy. Here is the two of them getting ready for an outing. Needless to say the puppy is getting well socialized with kids.

Hair Cut

Callan did his "favorite" thing today, got his haircut. :( Here is a picture of him with his new do.

Callan's First Post!

Hi All,

We finally started a BLOG for Callan. He (and we) have finally recovered from the nasty cold we have had. New pictures have bee posted on WEBSHOTS. We'll be watching the Bears tonight, hopefully, win the super bowl. GO BEARS! Here is a recent picture of Callan, doing his favorite thing, looking for food in the fridge!
